"ARE YOU READY"
Washington, D.C. (PoliticalJones.com) - All this talk about the Democratic Party Nomination process, and the intentions of the Super Delegates has got everyone excited. The Super Delegates are the Party leaders and elected officials. I guess you can call them the "Democratic Party Control Board". They can remain neutral or they can endorse a candidate. They have the power and flexibility to make their own choice.
In terms of real numbers, they have the power to overrule the popular vote in the primaries when there is a close primary election like this one. This system was put into place to make sure the party would have some control over this process.
Just like everyone else, these political parties do not like uncertainty. No one could have ever envisioned days or times like we are living now. I do know that if the leaders and the elected officials do not follow the will and voice of the voters things will get real interesting, real fast.
Right now, Senator Clinton has more of these Super Delegates pledged to her, but Senator Obama has been making up ground. The majority of these "Supers" are still unpledged and are now being courted by both Candidates.
Now the real blood, sweat, and tears of this process will begin.
Let's be very clear, if there is any hint of the "Okey Doke" in this selection process, things could turn very bad for the Democrats. There is a possibility that a large number of the traditional Democratic Party base will walk away. This would create havoc and problems for Democratic Candidates on every level across the country both in 2008 and in the future.
Historic shifts and moments in history are never simple and easy. There is always pain and chaos.
Are you ready for History?
