"DREAMER"
Washington, D.C. (PoliticalJones.com) - On this day in celebration of a dreamer, I don't want the conversation to stop. The more we talk about race and gender in this country, is good. Too bad if it makes some folk uncomfortable. When you want real change it comes with great pain and sacrifice.
On this day we celebrate the dream of a man who gave his life . . . a man who knew that his actions could lead to him being killed. A man with a wife and four young children . . . a man who had the faith and the commitment to stand up and say . . . "Let Freedom Ring"
As the father of my own two beautiful children, I ask myself on this day, would you risk your life for any cause to save your people, your community and your nation?
In the end a father, a husband, a son, and a friend was killed for standing up for what he believed in. So on this day, his "Holiday", ask yourself what are you willing to die for? This Black Man from the South, who many in the both Black and White communities called a "Simple Country" Preacher changed the world.
In his famous 1963 speech, "I Have A Dream", this Black man stated that he had a dream of a time "where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers."
Who would have ever thought that forty years after his death TWO IVY LEAGUE EDUCATED lawyers, one a Black man and the other a White woman, would be arguing over who loved him the most and walking hand-in-hand as candidates for the Presidency of the Untied States of America.
I guess his dream is coming true!
