"KALIFORNIA vs. KATRINA"
Fire and rain . . .
Wildfires and floods . . .
There will be many who will see the catastrophe happening right now in California, and feel sympathy for those who are losing their homes and quite possibly their lives. Then there will be some folk who will be upset because the response by the media and the Bush Administration is of an entire different level than the response the poor folk down in the Gulf Coast received. The displaced residents of California are not being referred to as refugees, as the people of the Gulf Coast were so often called.
Well of course, the Administration is saying that because of all of the experience gained from the mess on the Gulf Coast, they are now better prepared to deal with the devastation in California.
Let’s face it, California is a rich state of great economic concern to the whole country and has many voters. But when you compare the response they have received to the response of the folks down on the Gulf Coast, it makes you wonder . . . what in the world is going on? More importantly, why does it always seem that poor folks both white and black, always seem to get substandard service?
On other hand, with the lack of rain, and more powerful hurricanes and weather systems… it seems that we better all start looking very seriously at the issue of Global Warming and protecting our environment.
Are you ready to save the planet?
One thing should be very clear when it comes to both wildfires and hurricanes, they don’t discriminate based upon class, race or location.
They only eliminate!
