"IT'S A SECRET . . . SHHH"

Washington, DC (PoliticalJones.com) - It’s a secret . . . shhh!  No one wants to talk about it.   No one wants to even acknowledge it.  But in the neighborhoods, homes, and both beauty parlors and barbershops all across the country, folks are thinking about it and talking about it.

"It" is the majority media's issue that “Senator Obama must attack and clearly define his differences with Senator Clinton”.

In a nation that sadly has been defined on its treatment of Black Folks and Women, there is an interesting undercurrent of Election 2008.  This has made it more difficult for the other Democratic Candidates to gain any real attention.  The fact that the two major rivals for the Democratic Nomination are a Black Man and White Woman, has changed the game.

The talk now is that Senator Obama has to show his differences from Senator Clinton.  Well perhaps, but he has to walk a fine line when doing so.

In a country shaped by both race and gender, the undercurrent of how far a Black Man can go when confronting a White Woman in America brings up all kinds of images and thoughts that many find very unsettling.

In a country where Black Men have been lynched and castrated for even looking at a White Women, don’t fool yourself.  It is an issue.

In a country where Women, of all colors, have been pushed to the aside, devalued, and made to feel insignificant . . . the underlying theme of “Is any Woman tough enough to be President”… is an issue.

Let’s face it, if Sen. Obama becomes more combative some will feel “uncomfortable” with his tactics. But on the other hand, Sen. Clinton has lived in the eye of the Political Fire for a long time.  I doubt that any tough talk from anyone will ever bother her.

It’s a very interesting and complex thing . . . two very qualified people have been and will continue to be judged on the very issues they have no control over.

In America, BLACK and WHITE is and will continue to be an issue.
