"ON THIS DAY"

Washington, D.C. (PoliticalJones.com) - Just 40 years ago.  Our country was rocked to its core.  The foundation on which our country was created was shaken.  The Civil Rights Movement challenged and changed our country.

If you are under the age of 40 it is probably very hard to truly appreciate the depths of total anger and despair that existed in our nation.

It is hard to imagine how close our country came to coming apart.

Forty years later, we are now seeing the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the civil rights movement help lead our country into the future.

So in this time of war, economic hardship, and disillusionment with the direction of the country, they are answering the call to help make things better.

It does not matter if you are a Democrat, Republican, or Independent; everyone is feeling the pain and difficulties of these uncertain times.

As we observe the 40th Anniversary of death of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., please remember that the true measure of any person’s life is what they are personally willing to give UP and sacrifice for the betterment of their fellow man?.

On this day, we should all be thankful to God that He gave us such a Man.
