"Why . . . Because It's Time For A Change"

Washington, DC (PoliticalJones.com) - Yesterday I celebrated my birthday.  As a Black Man, I thank God that I have made it through 44 years of trials and tribulations with His many blessings.  In fact, with all of the gray hair beginning to show, I have to believe that I have gained some wisdom.

Reading emails and listening to folks from across our country, I sense a clear mood that things have to change.  Most folks feel that we have real problems and no one, including our political leadership wants to really deal with the difficult issues facing all of us.

Political leaders from both parties are extremely concerned by the uncertainty of the voters.  They want assurance and comfort.  When given the choice of thinking outside the box or keeping the status quo, many times the easy route is chosen.  They usually stay with the ideas and the folks that they know.

And as a result, nothing is changed.  Everything stays the same, and everyone pays the price.

Our nation was build by innovators and dreamers.  It is a great accomplishment to build a nation rich with diversity in both its people and its ideas.  Hard work and even more sacrifice is required to build a country like ours.

Let’s be clear, Election 2008 is a special moment in America’s history.  Not only because of race and gender, but also because it is time to think outside the box.   It is time to reach out to those who have not had a voice, time to reach out to those who have been ignored, and time to reach out to those who have been forgotten.

Just remember, if your name is on the door and you have a problem, it is up to you solve it.   Even if it means picking up the phone and making the call.  True leadership is having the courage to think and act outside your comfort zone.

Why . . . Because it's time for a change!
